What Fits a Bronco - Sasquatch or Not

The 2021+ Bronco was designed around 35s, which is why it takes big tires more easily than any other new 4x4. Here is what clears at each trim and lift.

Bronco Wheel Specs at a Glance

Every 2021-2026 Bronco - two-door and four-door, base through Raptor - uses a 6×5.5 (6×139.7) bolt pattern with a 93.1 mm hub bore and M14×1.5 lugs. Non-Sasquatch trucks ship with 16-18" wheels at a high positive offset (about +55), which is why an aftermarket 17x8.5 in the 0 to +25 range fills the flares so much better. The unibody Bronco Sport is a different vehicle (5×108) and is not covered here.

Classic Broncos are simpler: 1966-1977 early Broncos and the 1978-1996 full-size trucks are all 5×5.5 (5×139.7).

How Big Can You Go?

  • Non-Sasquatch, stock height: 33s (285/70R17, 33x12.50R17) fit every trim with no trimming. 35x12.50R17s fit too on a 17x8.5 or 17x9 at 0 to +25 offset - expect to trim or remove the plastic crash bars and lower fender liner and to see light rubbing at full flex. Badlands trucks with the taller suspension have the most room.
  • Non-Sasquatch, 2" lift: 35s clear with no rubbing; 37x12.50R17s fit with the Sasquatch fender flares, trimmed liners, and a 0 to -12 offset wheel.
  • Sasquatch: 35s are stock on 17x8.5 beadlock-capable wheels. 37s fit with a 2" lift or perch collars plus liner trimming; some owners run them at stock height with minor rubbing at full lock.
  • Bronco Raptor: 37s are stock. 40s need a 2-3" lift and trimming.
  • Classic Bronco (1966-77): 31s fit stock; 33s with a 2.5" lift and uncut fenders; 35s and up with 3.5"+ and cut fenders.

The Bronco's independent front suspension and steering geometry are sensitive to offset. Going more negative than -12 on a 35 or 37 adds leverage on the steering rack and speeds up wheel-bearing wear - we keep packages between -12 and +25 unless you tell us you have upgraded steering.

Gearing, Sway Bar, and the Speedometer

Non-Sasquatch Broncos come with 3.73 or 4.46 gears and Sasquatch trucks with 4.70, which is why 35s feel fine on a Sasquatch. 37s on 3.73s or 4.46s are noticeably lazier - a regear to 4.88 or 5.13 restores the powerband. Ford does not sell a Sasquatch upgrade, but the aftermarket does: gears, the electronic front sway-bar disconnect, and 17x8.5 beadlock-capable wheels. Recalibrate the speedometer for the new tire diameter either way.

All-Terrain vs. Mud-Terrain on a Bronco

  • All-Terrain (A/T): the right call for a daily-driven Bronco - quiet, long-wearing, and light. Toyo Open Country A/T III and Nitto Ridge Grappler are the top sellers here.
  • Mud-Terrain (M/T): maximum traction on the trail, louder on the highway and faster wearing. Nitto Trail Grappler, BFGoodrich KM3, and Toyo Open Country M/T lead this category in 35x12.50R17 and 37x12.50R17.

Weight matters on a vehicle this size. A load range C 35 can be 10-12 lb per tire lighter than an E - better for acceleration, braking, and fuel economy on a Bronco that does not tow. Every tire on this page lists its load range and weight.

Why Buy the Package Instead of Separately?

Buying wheels and tires together means we check the whole combination - bolt pattern, hub bore, offset, diameter, and load rating - against your trim, Sasquatch package, and lift before anything ships. We mount and balance the set for free, install TPMS sensors if you add them, and ship the four assembled wheels free to your door. Bolt them on, torque the lugs to 150 ft-lb, and drive. No shop appointment, no $150-250 mounting bill, and no getting turned away because a chain store will not touch 37s.

Bronco Wheel & Tire Questions

All 2021-2026 Broncos - base through Raptor, Sasquatch or not - are 6×5.5 (6×139.7) with a 93.1 mm hub bore. Classic 1966-1977 and full-size 1978-1996 Broncos are 5×5.5. The Bronco Sport is 5×108 and is a different vehicle.

Yes. A 35x12.50R17 on a 17x8.5 or 17x9 wheel at 0 to +25 offset fits every 2021+ trim at stock height - trim or remove the plastic crash bars and the lower fender liner, and expect light rubbing at full flex on lower trims. A 2" lift clears them completely.

Yes with a 2" lift or perch collars and trimmed fender liners; some owners run 37x12.50R17s at stock height with minor rubbing at full lock. Non-Sasquatch trucks need the 2" lift plus Sasquatch flares. Plan on a 4.88 or 5.13 regear if you came from 3.73 or 4.46 gears.

Not with the 4.70 gears on a Sasquatch - 35s are what it was designed around. 3.73 and 4.46 trucks are fine on 35s for daily driving and lazy on 37s; regear to 4.88 or 5.13 for 37s. Recalibrate the speedometer either way.

Yes - and we will actually mount them. Many chain shops refuse oversized tires; we mount and balance every set we sell, including 35s and 37s on beadlock-style wheels, free when you buy the wheels and tires together. That is typically $150-$250 of install work you keep, and the set ships assembled and ready to bolt on.

Yes. Add OE-compatible sensors during the build and we install them with your package. The Bronco relearns sensors with the standard Ford relearn procedure or a short drive.

Yes. When you supply your trim, Sasquatch package, and lift during the build, we check the combo against bolt pattern, hub bore, diameter, offset, and load rating before shipment. We have built Broncos since 1986 - the early ones on 5×5.5 and now the new ones - and fitment is the part we got into this business to get right.
