What Fits an F-150 - Stock, Leveled, and Lifted

Everything we check before an F-150 package leaves the building: bolt pattern, hub bore, offset, and how much tire your truck clears at its current ride height.

F-150 Wheel Specs at a Glance

Every 2004-2026 F-150 - XL through Raptor, EcoBoost or V8, gas or Lightning - shares the same 6×135 bolt pattern and 87.1 mm hub bore. The 1997-2003 trucks are the exception at 5×135. Lug threads changed in 2015: older trucks use M14×2.0, 2015-and-up use M14×1.5, so new lug nuts usually come with the wheels.

How Big Can You Go?

The F-150 has one of the roomiest wheel wells of any half-ton, which is why 33s and 35s are the two most common builds we ship.

  • Stock height: a 33" tire (275/70R18, 33x12.50R20, 305/55R20) fits most 2009-2026 trucks with little or no rubbing on a 9"-wide wheel around +18 to +25 offset. 34s (295/60R20) usually clear with a trimmed front air dam.
  • 2-2.5" leveling kit: the sweet spot for 35x12.50s on 18s or 20s. Expect to trim the front fender liner and lower air dam; 20x10 wheels at -18 to -24 offset will need more trimming than a 20x9 at +1.
  • 6" suspension lift: 35s clear with room to spare and 37x12.50s fit with minor trimming. Most of the Rough Country and Fabtech builds in our customer gallery are exactly this combination.
  • Raptor: 35s are stock. 37s fit the 2021+ Raptor 37 package out of the box and earlier Raptors with a 2-3" lift or perch collars plus fender trimming.

Wheel width and offset move the tire as much as diameter does. A 35x12.50 on a 20x9 +1 tucks; the same tire on a 20x10 -24 pokes about an inch past the fender and hits the liner at full lock without a level. Our package builder only shows offsets that clear at the ride height you tell us.

Gearing, Speedometer, and Towing on Bigger Tires

Most F-150s leave the factory with 3.31, 3.55, or 3.73 gears. Going from a 32" stock tire to a 35 is roughly a 9% change - the truck feels lazier off the line, the transmission hunts more when towing, and the speedometer reads about 3 mph slow at 60. A tuner or dealer recalibration fixes the speedometer; a regear to 4.10 or 4.30 is worth it if you tow regularly on 35s or larger. 33s generally do not need either.

All-Terrain vs. Mud-Terrain vs. Hybrid on a Daily Driver

The F-150 is a daily driver first for most owners, and the tire choice follows from that.

  • All-Terrain (A/T): quiet, long-wearing, good in rain and light snow, and rated for towing. The Nitto Ridge Grappler and Toyo Open Country A/T III in our top sellers are here.
  • Hybrid / Rugged-Terrain (R/T, X/T): mud-terrain looks with all-terrain manners. The most popular choice for leveled trucks that see gravel and job sites.
  • Mud-Terrain (M/T): maximum traction off-road and in mud, louder on the highway and faster wearing. Best on lifted trucks that actually get used off-road.

Load range matters on a truck that tows: LT-metric E-rated tires carry more weight and run stiffer than P-metric or C/D-rated tires. Every tire on this page lists its load range and max load so you can match it to your payload.

Why Buy the Package Instead of Separately?

Buying wheels and tires together means we check the whole combination - bolt pattern, hub bore, offset, tire diameter, and load rating - against your year, trim, and lift before anything ships. We mount and balance the set for free, install TPMS sensors if you add them, and ship the four assembled wheels free to your door. Bolt them on, torque the lugs to 150 ft-lb, and drive. No shop appointment, no $150-250 mounting bill, and no getting turned away because a chain store will not touch 35s.

Good to know

F-150 Wheel & Tire Questions

All 2004-2026 F-150s - including Raptor, Tremor, and Lightning - are 6×135 with an 87.1 mm hub bore. 1997-2003 trucks are 5×135. Many truck wheels are drilled 6×135 and 6×5.5 together, so they fit F-150s and GM/Toyota 6-lugs alike; every wheel page lists the pattern up top.

Yes on most 2009-2026 trucks. A 2-2.5" level plus a 35x12.50 on an 18x9 or 20x9 wheel around +1 to +18 offset is the most common F-150 package we build. Plan on trimming the front fender liner and lower air dam, and expect more trimming with a 20x10 at -18 to -24 offset. Stock-height trucks top out around 33-34".

A 33" tire - 275/70R18, 33x12.50R20, or 305/55R20 - fits a stock 2015-2026 F-150 with little to no rubbing on a wheel at +18 offset or higher. 34s (295/60R20) usually work with a trimmed air dam. Anything larger needs a level.

Not for a daily driver - a 35 on 3.55 or 3.73 gears drives fine, just a little softer off the line. If you tow regularly or run 37s, a regear to 4.10 or 4.30 brings the powerband back. Either way, recalibrate the speedometer so it reads right on the new tire diameter.

Yes - and we will actually mount them. Many chain shops refuse oversized or E-rated tires; we mount and balance every set we sell, including 35s and 37s, free when you buy the wheels and tires together. That is typically $150-$250 of install work you keep, and the set ships assembled and ready to bolt on.

Yes. Add OE-compatible sensors during the build and we install them with your package so the dash light stays off. Your truck relearns the sensors with a short drive or the standard Ford relearn procedure.

Yes. When you supply your year, trim, and lift during the build, we check the combo against bolt pattern, hub bore, diameter, offset, and load rating before shipment. We have paired wheels and tires for lifted trucks since 1986 - fitment is the part we got into this business to get right.

Yes - split the package into monthly payments with Affirm or PayPal Pay Later, or choose Acima lease-to-own at checkout. Most F-150 packages run $2,000-4,500.
