What Fits a Ram - 1500, 2500, and 3500
Ram trucks span three bolt patterns and two very different suspensions. Here is what we check before a Ram package leaves the building.
Ram Wheel Specs by Model
The single most common Ram fitment mistake is the bolt pattern. The 2019+ Ram 1500 (DT) moved to a six-lug 6×5.5 (6×139.7) pattern, while the 2009-2018 fourth-gen truck - sold alongside it as the Ram 1500 Classic through 2024 - stays five-lug 5×5.5 (5×139.7). Heavy-duty 2500s and 2003-2018 3500 SRW trucks are 8×6.5 (8×165.1); the 2019+ 3500 went to 8×200. Both 1500s share a 77.8 mm hub bore; HD trucks are 121.3 mm.

Ram 1500: Stock, Leveled, and Lifted
- Stock height: 33s (275/70R18, 33x12.50R20, 305/55R20) fit a stock 2009-2026 Ram 1500 on a 9"-wide wheel in the +10 to +25 range. The Rebel and TRX already ride higher and clear 33s with room.
- 2-3.5" level: the 2019+ truck fits 35x12.50s with a 3-3.5" front level and light liner trimming; the 2009-2018 truck does it with 2.5-3" and a trimmed air dam. Keep offsets between -12 and +18 on a 20x9 or 20x10 to avoid the upper control arm.
- 6" lift: 35s fit without trimming and 37s clear with minor liner work. Most of the 6" Rough Country builds in our customer gallery run 35x12.50R20 or 37x12.50R17.
- Air suspension: the four-corner air ride on Laramie and Limited trims changes ride height by mode - size for the lowest setting, or add a leveling module.
Ram 2500 and 3500: Solid Front Axle Fitment
The heavy-duty Ram uses a coil-sprung solid front axle, which is why it takes big tires so easily. 35s fit a stock 2014-2026 Ram 2500 on the factory wheel or an 18x9/20x9 at 0 to +18 offset with minimal rubbing at full lock. A 2-2.5" leveling kit clears 35s completely and gets 37x12.50s in with trimmed fender liners and bump-stop extensions; 2019+ trucks need the front mud flaps and a section of liner removed. 3"-5" lifts run 37s clean and 40s with trimming. Power Wagons already sit higher and take 35s stock, 37s with a level.
On HD trucks the tire matters as much as the wheel. Use LT-metric load range E tires - a 2500 that tows or carries a slide-in camper needs the 3,600+ lb per-tire rating that a 35x12.50R20 E or 37x12.50R17 E provides. Every tire on this page lists its load range and max load.
Gearing and Speedometer
Ram 1500s run 3.21, 3.55, or 3.92 gears; a 35 on 3.21s is sluggish, on 3.92s it is fine. HD trucks with 3.73 or 4.10 handle 35s and 37s without a regear. Either way, have the speedometer recalibrated for the new diameter - a 35 in place of a 32 reads about 5 mph slow at highway speed.
